Hello all my fellow Deviantart friends and fans of the Doctor Who work I have been putting together with Will of the www.whoniverse.net website.
I wanted to acknowledge a slight problem that has come up and seek forgiveness and if possible the ability to mend a fence, and maybe gain some assistance with the project I am working on in collaboration.
In my haste to produce quality work, and seeking references for the Doctor's Mark I console, I went to the source and reference section of the TARDIS builders website. There you have the unique pleasure of seeing some of the most accurate and brilliant work ever conceived by the artists and message board members. See this link: tardisbuilders.com/index.php?t…
In going to that website and using the work there as references for the TARDIS MASTER Schematics and General Plans Index, I neglected to ask for specific permission from the artists on that website for use of their work as references for my own. It is also possible I made some people extremely angry in doing so, and may have to remove my work on principle for this. I do not want to do that, but would respect their wishes if that is the case. The reason I wanted to write this journal entry is to call attention to their brilliant work, to also acknowledge I should have been more proactive in seeking their help, permission, and friendship. I don't care about my own adulation, or credit. The work I have done speaks to my own abilities by itself. However, I do not want to make enemies of people who do the same kind of work, and are actually quite Brilliant in their own right, in fact I would rather seek their help so fans and friends like you can get a very awesome and amazing piece of "IN CANON" TARDIS Schematics. That is my only goal and love is to produce a super detailed and amazing book for us fans to enjoy, buy on a bulk print job, and no profit being made what so ever.
I recently received some pretty bad messages (Mind you they were totally within their right to do so, as I stated before I messed up) and tho I understand their initial anger, I am seeking their help, and hoping this Journal Entry is partly enough to convince them to assist me, put aside the mistake I made, and maybe we could come together to produce this book for all fans to enjoy.
I urge all my friends and Whovians here to join the TARDIS Builder's website, and give special thanks and praise to the artists listed in the link on that website. I am hopeful maybe we can convince these awesome guys to come along and help produce this fan project book, so that we can all enjoy getting a cool and awesome TARDIS book to cherish. I want this as much as most of you, and I sincerely believe that giving credit to artists is key.
Unfortunately having made the mistake I did, I may have lost the opportunity to get their assistance, but I am hopeful that I can make new friends and get their help, because the more experts we can bring together to form a group of likeminded fans and superb artists to form into a Gallifrey Blackhole Shipyard team to tackle this subject, because quite frankly I can't do it alone, and I would prefer the help of other talented and amazing individuals to do so.
I hope this Journal entry is enough to maybe mend the fence, and possibly make new friends, and get assistance with this work, and give of course all full Credit on the console to the Artists from that website. My only wish is to produce a fantastic piece of TARDIS schematics and index of it's capabilities and functions for friends, and fans like you, me, and those brilliant amazing artists on the TARDIS Builders website.
If any of you guys can read this, please accept my humble apologies for any offense taken, and Please consider helping me with this book project, and working with me and My friend Will Swift of the www.whoniverse.net website. We would love to work together to produce a fantastic book for all us fans to enjoy, and I will personally pay for your copies to be printed, and give full credit in the Book for all your help and collaborations. Please let me know, and if you decide that you wish for me to remove the work I have done, I will honor your decision. I am a fan of your work on TARDIS Builders, and will Scarfwearer's work on TARDIS BUILDERS, the Brilliant and talented Tony Farrell, and many others (sorry I only know those names off the top of my head).
My work is not about my own need for fan feedback, nor is it for taken credit from others who work hard to produce their own work. I want nothing more then to work with these people and whom I consider the experts, idols, and rock stars of Doctor Who Schematics.
I deserved the tongue lashing I got today to a certain extent, but I never intended any malice, credit grabbing, or stealing. I never will. I just want to make an awesome fan publication for all us geeks to enjoy. Please consider my appeal for help, and friendship.</b>
As of tonight, pages 3-5 of the TARDIS Master Schematics will be removed from my page. The Art I used and reworked for my own purposes, based on the art of another couple of artists who reworked and used for their own purposes art which is based on a property owned by the BBC, and based on the art of the original artist Peter Brachki, is being removed.
Page 3 (top image) is being removed and replaced with my own schematic
Page 4 (bottom basic console image) is being replaced and a new version drawn by me, and including the controls like the above image will replace the other.
Page 5 (removing the readout dials based on the other artist's dials, and replaced with my own version) which the rest of that console is solely mine, and based on the An Adventure in space and Time console schematic set plans used for the tv movie.
All Future designs will be based solely on the original source materials and nothing will be taken or reused from the TARDIS Builders website, or other works from fans. Only based solely on the source materials available to everyone.
